The Breathe Safe air purifier does not require much maintenance, but it does need to be cleaned regularly to maintain the device's effectiveness. Dust and particulates can collect in the machine's inner plates and needles with regular daily use. Excessive amounts diminish the beneficial production of ions.
The Breathe Safe may need to be cleaned as much as every two weeks, based upon the amount of contaminants found in your environment. It is important to remove dust and particulates from the device in order to sustain its ion output and maintain effectiveness and longevity.
To clean: unplug the device, flip it over, and carefully wipe the underside of the plate and in between the needles with a moist cotton swab.
It is not necessary to remove the top cover in order to clean the machine, but it will make it easier to see the particles while cleaning.
To clean the Breathe Safe with the cover still on: unplug the device, turn it 90 degrees on its side, and wipe under the cover and between the needles with a moist cotton swab.
