Intimate changes with age

Why dryness, irritation, and sensitivity can change during menopause

Estrogen helps maintain the thickness, elasticity, blood flow, moisture, and acidic environment of vulvar and vaginal tissue. As estrogen declines, tissue may become thinner, drier, less elastic, and more easily irritated. Some women also experience burning, discomfort with sexual activity, urinary urgency, or recurrent urinary symptoms.

This group of changes is often called the genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Unlike hot flashes, these symptoms do not always improve on their own and may become more noticeable without consistent care.

Less Surface Moisture

Reduced hormonal support may decrease natural lubrication and increase friction.

Thinner Tissue

Delicate tissue may become more vulnerable to dryness, burning, and irritation.

Reduced Elasticity

Tissue may feel less flexible or resilient during movement and intimacy.

Changed Sensation

Comfort, arousal, sensitivity, and confidence may all be affected.

External moisturizer versus lubricant

A moisturizer is used consistently to improve ongoing tissue comfort and hydration. A lubricant is used immediately before sexual activity to reduce friction. Some women benefit from both approaches.

Why Moistrielle™ was created

Concentrated nourishment for delicate external intimate tissue

Moistrielle™ was developed to provide more than temporary surface slip. Its formula combines moisture-attracting ingredients with lipids that soften tissue and help reduce water loss from the surface.

Replenish Moisture

Hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and hydrolyzed rice protein help support hydration and softness.

Support the Barrier

Tallow, jojoba, emu oil, castor oil, and ceramides help coat and protect dry external tissue.

Calm and Comfort

Bisabolol and lavender are included for a soothing, gentle sensory experience.

Formula goals

Moisture, softness, resilience, and intimate confidence

Moisture Retention

Helps reduce the dry, tight feeling associated with loss of surface moisture.

Softness and Suppleness

Emollient oils help smooth and soften delicate external tissue.

Barrier Support

Ceramides and lipids help reinforce the surface barrier and improve comfort.

Sensual Well-Being

Improved comfort may help women feel more relaxed and confident in their bodies.

DHEA education

Why DHEA requires clear expectations and responsible use

DHEA, also called prasterone, is a steroid hormone that can be converted locally into estrogens and androgens. Clinical trials of an FDA-approved 6.5 mg intravaginal prasterone insert found improvement in moderate-to-severe pain with intercourse caused by menopausal vulvovaginal atrophy.

Those studies evaluated a specific prescription vaginal insert and dose. They do not automatically establish the same effects, absorption, or safety for every compounded or cosmetic DHEA-containing topical.

Hormone-containing product

DHEA is biologically active. Speak with a qualified health professional before use when you have a history of breast, uterine, ovarian, or other hormone-sensitive cancer; unexplained vaginal bleeding; endometriosis; pregnancy; breastfeeding; or current hormone therapy.

Premium ingredients with purpose

A layered formula for moisture, barrier support, and comfort

Each ingredient below is chosen to help delicate external tissue hold moisture and feel soft, supple, and comfortable — working at the surface to support the skin’s own moisture barrier. These ingredients are intended to support surface moisture and comfort, not to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Lipid base Tallow

Provides rich emollient fatty acids that soften tissue and help slow surface moisture loss.

Light emollient Jojoba Oil

A wax ester that improves glide and softness while helping support a comfortable skin feel.

Protective oil Castor Oil

A dense emollient oil that improves coating, slip, and moisture retention.

Penetrating emollient Emu Oil

Supports spreadability and helps the formula feel deeply conditioning.

Hormone-active ingredient DHEA

Included for local hormone support; use requires awareness that evidence depends on formulation, dose, and route.

Soothing agent Bisabolol

A calming cosmetic ingredient used to help reduce the feeling of irritation and sensitivity.

Barrier lipids Ceramide Complex

Helps reinforce the lipid “mortar” between surface cells and support moisture retention.

Botanical active PhotoCellTec™ Malus

An apple-cell-culture cosmetic ingredient used in formulas designed to support a renewed appearance.

Plumping cosmetic active Linefill™

A cosmetic ingredient used to support a fuller, smoother-looking tissue surface.

Conditioning protein Hydrolyzed Rice Protein

Helps condition the surface and support a soft, supple feel.

Humectant Hyaluronic Acid

Attracts and retains water at the surface to support hydration, smoothness, and comfort.

Preservation support Leucidal®

A fermentation-derived preservative system used to help protect the product from microbial contamination.

Aromatic botanical Lavender

Provides a light botanical aroma and a soothing sensory element.

Pro-vitamin B5 DL-Panthenol

Supports hydration, softness, and a more comfortable skin-barrier feel.

Ingredient claims depend on the finished formula

The concentration, pH, stability, preservative performance, packaging, and final-product testing determine how a formula behaves. Benefits of an individual ingredient cannot always be assumed to equal the performance of the complete product.

Clean intimate care

What Moistrielle™ leaves out

No Parabens

Formulated without parabens.

No Petroleum Derivatives

Uses a lipid-rich botanical and animal-fat base rather than petroleum-derived occlusives.

No Synthetic Fragrance

Lavender supplies the light aromatic component.

No Added Phthalates

Formulated without common fragrance-associated phthalates.

No Harsh Cleansing Agents

Designed as a leave-on moisturizer rather than a detergent or wash.

No One-Size-Fits-All Promise

Intimate symptoms have many causes and persistent symptoms deserve evaluation.

How to use

A small amount as part of a morning external-care ritual

1

Cleanse Gently

Use water or a gentle fragrance-free cleanser, then pat the external area dry.

2

Use a Small Amount

Begin with a very small quantity. More product is not necessarily more effective.

3

Apply Externally

Spread a thin layer over clean external vulvar tissue as directed on the final label.

4

Use Consistently

Follow the manufacturer’s morning-use directions and observe tissue response over time.

Why the page specifies morning use

Morning application is the intended manufacturer direction for this formula. However, the claim that all topical DHEA must be used in the morning because blood DHEA naturally declines at night has not been established for every local preparation. Follow the final product label and prescriber guidance.

External use unless the final label specifically states otherwise

“Vaginal crème” can be misunderstood as meaning internal insertion. This description directs application to external vulvar tissue. Do not insert internally unless the finalized product directions and a qualified health professional specifically instruct you to do so.

Sensitive-tissue precautions

Patch test first and stop for persistent irritation

Before First Broad Use

  • Apply a tiny amount to a small area of external skin
  • Observe for burning, itching, rash, or swelling
  • Wait before increasing the application area
  • Use clean, dry hands or a clean applicator

Do Not Apply Over

  • Open sores, active infection, or unexplained lesions
  • Fresh surgical sites or actively bleeding tissue
  • Severe inflammation or acute allergic rash
  • Areas being evaluated for a new lump or persistent skin change

Seek evaluation for persistent or new symptoms

Dryness and irritation are common during menopause, but itching, odor, discharge, bleeding, sores, urinary pain, or one-sided swelling can have other causes. Do not assume every symptom is hormonal dryness.

Intimacy and product compatibility

Oil-rich creams may not be compatible with latex barriers

Moistrielle™ contains tallow and multiple oils. Oil-based products can weaken latex condoms and latex diaphragms, increasing the risk of breakage or failure.

Item Compatibility Consideration
Latex condoms or diaphragms Do not assume compatibility; oil-rich products can weaken latex.
Polyurethane or polyisoprene barriers Check the barrier manufacturer’s instructions before combining products.
Silicone intimate devices Check device-care instructions and test a small area when material compatibility is uncertain.
Sexual lubricant Moistrielle™ is a daily moisturizer; additional compatible lubricant may still be needed for intercourse.
Storage and hygiene

Protect a water-containing intimate formula from contamination

  • Keep the container tightly closed between uses.
  • Use clean, dry hands or a clean applicator.
  • Do not introduce water into the container.
  • Store away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, and freezing.
  • Do not share the product or applicator between people.
  • Discard after the labeled expiration or period-after-opening date.
  • Stop using if odor, color, texture, or separation changes unexpectedly.

Preservation testing matters

Because intimate creams can contain water and nutrient-rich ingredients, final microbial challenge testing, stability testing, and packaging compatibility are important before sale.

Frequently asked questions

Moistrielle™ Vaginal Crème FAQ

Is Moistrielle™ intended for internal vaginal insertion?
This description directs use on clean external vulvar tissue. Do not insert it internally unless the final product label and a qualified health professional specifically direct internal use.
Is this a moisturizer or a lubricant?
It is designed as a daily external moisturizer. A separate compatible lubricant may still be useful during sexual activity.
Does it contain hormones?
Yes. It contains DHEA, also known as prasterone, which is a biologically active steroid hormone.
Are the DHEA clinical studies directly applicable to this formula?
Not automatically. Published clinical trials and FDA approval concern a specific 6.5 mg prescription intravaginal prasterone insert. A different external cream, dose, and base may have different absorption and effects.
Why is morning application recommended?
Morning application is the intended manufacturer direction. Follow the final label and any guidance from the prescribing or supervising clinician.
Can I use it with latex condoms?
Do not assume compatibility. The tallow and oils may weaken latex condoms or diaphragms.
Can hyaluronic acid help dryness?
Hyaluronic acid attracts water and is used in vaginal and vulvar moisturizing products. Clinical studies of specific hyaluronic-acid vaginal products have reported improvement in menopausal dryness, but results depend on the finished formulation and route of use.
Can I use it after a hysterectomy or during cancer treatment?
Ask the treating clinician first, especially because this product contains DHEA and because treatment history may change which local products are appropriate.
When should I stop using it?
Stop for persistent burning, rash, swelling, bleeding, unusual discharge, worsening pain, or any suspected allergic reaction.
When will Moistrielle™ be available?
Moistrielle™ is currently listed as coming soon. Final package size, concentration, ingredient declaration, directions, warnings, and availability will be provided before purchase.
