Sauna Fix® • Australian Electrical Accessory

Connect a Compatible Sauna Fix® 240V Lamp to an Australian Wall Outlet

The USA to Australian Cord is designed for compatible Sauna Fix® lamp fixtures configured with 240-volt heat lamp bulbs and used on Australian 220–240V electrical service.

One end connects to the grounded U.S.-style plug on the Sauna Fix® lamp cord, while the other end is designed for a compatible Australian wall receptacle.

Australian plug configuration For 220–240V systems Grounded connection Approx. 24 inches long Shielded construction No transformer required when correctly matched

This cord does not convert voltage. The lamp fixture, installed bulbs, cord, and local electrical supply must all be compatible with 220–240V operation.

Use this cord only when all four conditions match

  • Sauna Fix® lamp is configured for 220–240V use
  • 240V heat lamp bulbs are installed
  • Australian grounded wall receptacle is available
  • Local circuit is appropriate for the lamp load
What the cord does

Changes the plug connection—not the electrical voltage

The Sauna Fix® lamp is built with a grounded U.S.-style plug connection. This accessory cord allows that plug to connect to an Australian-style wall outlet when the lamp system is already configured for 220–240V operation.

It does not step voltage up or down, change electrical frequency, or make a 120V lamp safe for use on 240V power.

Correct operation depends on matching the bulb voltage, fixture wiring, power cord, wall receptacle, and local electrical supply.

What it does not do

  • Does not convert 120V to 240V
  • Does not convert 240V to 120V
  • Does not replace a transformer
  • Does not change electrical frequency
  • Does not make an incompatible fixture safe
  • Does not override local electrical requirements
Required setup

Use with the correct 240V Sauna Fix® bulb configuration

240V Bulbs

The Sauna Fix® lamp must use the correct 240-volt heat lamp bulbs.

Compatible Lamp Fixture

The fixture and internal wiring must be intended for 220–240V service.

Australian Wall Receptacle

The wall connection must be a properly grounded Australian outlet in good condition.

Appropriate Circuit

The circuit must be suitable for the lamp's electrical load and local code requirements.

Grounded Connection

Keep the grounding path intact from the lamp through the accessory cord to the wall outlet.

Dry Indoor Use

Use the cord in a dry indoor environment and keep all electrical connections away from moisture.

International cord options

Select the plug style that matches your country

Cord option Typical plug region Voltage requirement
Australian Cord Australia and compatible plug regions Use only with a properly configured 220–240V Sauna Fix® system
British Cord United Kingdom and compatible plug regions Use only with a properly configured 220–240V Sauna Fix® system
European Cord Continental Europe and compatible plug regions Use only with a properly configured 220–240V Sauna Fix® system

Country compatibility varies: Confirm local plug style, voltage, grounding, frequency, circuit rating, and regulatory requirements before ordering.

How to connect it

Attach only while the lamp is off, unplugged, and cool

  1. Confirm that the Sauna Fix® lamp is configured for 220–240V operation.
  2. Verify that 240V Sauna Fix® heat lamp bulbs are installed.
  3. Turn the lamp off and allow all bulbs and guards to cool.
  4. Inspect the lamp cord, U.S.-style plug, accessory cord, and Australian plug for damage.
  5. Connect the U.S.-style lamp plug securely to the matching end of the Australian cord.
  6. Make sure the connection is fully seated and not loose.
  7. Plug the Australian end directly into a compatible grounded wall receptacle.
  8. Keep the connection outside the hot zone and away from perspiration or water.
  9. Route the cord so it cannot be tripped over, pinched, pulled, or placed against hot lamp guards.
  10. Turn the lamp on and verify normal operation.

Do not use extension cords, multi-plug boards, or ungrounded adapters unless specifically approved for the lamp load and local electrical requirements.

Shielding and grounding

Designed to preserve the grounded electrical connection

The Sauna Fix® lamp uses shielded and grounded internal wiring. The Australian cord is intended to continue that grounded connection when used with a compatible outlet and properly configured lamp.

Shielding and grounding help manage electrical fields and support safer equipment operation, but only when every connection remains intact and the wall receptacle is properly grounded.

Never remove or bypass the ground connection. Do not use a two-prong adapter or modify the plugs.

Electrical safety

Inspect the cord before every sauna session

Check for Damage

Do not use the cord if the insulation, plug, pins, shielding, or connection points are cracked, loose, bent, burned, or frayed.

Keep It Dry

Position all plugs and connections away from sweat, water bottles, damp floors, and wet towels.

Avoid Heat Contact

Keep the cord away from lamp bulbs, guards, heaters, and other hot surfaces.

Prevent Tension

Do not allow the cord to support the weight of the lamp or remain stretched tightly between connections.

Use a Grounded Outlet

Plug only into a properly installed and grounded Australian wall receptacle.

Disconnect by the Plug

Grip the plug body when disconnecting. Do not pull the cord by the wire.

Transformer guidance

A transformer is not needed when the entire system already matches 220–240V

When the Sauna Fix® lamp fixture is properly configured for 220–240V use, the correct 240V bulbs are installed, and this Australian cord is connected to a compatible Australian wall outlet, a step-up transformer is not required.

A transformer or voltage converter should not be added casually to the system. Improper converters can overheat, fail under load, interfere with grounding, or damage the lamp.

Unsure about your setup? Have a qualified electrician verify the fixture, bulb voltage, plug, outlet, grounding, and circuit before use.

Frequently asked questions

USA to Australian Cord FAQ

What is the purpose of this cord?
It connects the grounded U.S.-style plug on a compatible Sauna Fix® 220–240V lamp system to an Australian wall receptacle.
Does the cord convert voltage?
No. It changes the plug connection only. The lamp, bulbs, cord, and wall supply must already be compatible with 220–240V operation.
Can I use it with a 120V Sauna Fix® lamp?
No. Connecting a 120V lamp or 120V bulbs to 220–240V power can damage the equipment and create a serious electrical hazard.
Do I need 240V heat lamp bulbs?
Yes. The Sauna Fix® lamp must be configured with the correct 240V bulbs before it is connected to Australian 220–240V service.
Do I need a step-up transformer?
No, provided the complete Sauna Fix® lamp system is already configured for 220–240V operation and connected to a compatible Australian outlet.
What are the cord dimensions?
The cord is approximately 24 inches long and weighs about 1 pound.
Is the cord shielded and grounded?
It is described as having shielded construction and is designed to preserve the grounded connection when used with a compatible grounded outlet.
Can I use this cord in another country?
Only where the local outlet, voltage, grounding, circuit requirements, and plug standard are compatible. Use the British or European cord when those plug styles are required.
Can I use a simple travel adapter instead?
A travel adapter changes plug shape only and may not provide the required grounding or current rating. Use the dedicated Sauna Fix® cord intended for the country and lamp configuration.
Can I plug it into a power strip?
Direct connection to a compatible grounded wall outlet is preferred. Do not use a power strip unless it is specifically rated for the full lamp load and permitted by local electrical requirements.
What should I inspect before use?
Check the cord insulation, plugs, pins, grounding connection, lamp plug, outlet, and all connection points for damage, looseness, heat marks, or moisture.
What should I do if the plug or cord becomes hot?
Turn off and unplug the lamp immediately. Do not use the system again until the cord, outlet, fixture, and electrical load have been inspected.

Important: This accessory changes plug compatibility only. It must be used with a correctly configured 220–240V Sauna Fix® lamp, 240V bulbs, and a properly grounded Australian outlet.
