This is one of the most searched questions in air purification and one of the most badly answered. Here is our position in one sentence: we have laboratory testing for bacteria, we do not have testing for viruses, and we therefore make no virus claims at all. The rest of this page explains what we did test, what genuinely reduces airborne illness risk, and why we would rather lose a sale than imply something we cannot show you.
We do not claim that our air purifiers kill, inactivate, capture or protect against viruses of any kind. We have not run virus testing, and a bacteria result is not transferable to viruses — they are different in size, structure and durability. Any air purifier marketed to you as virus protection should be accompanied by a virus test report naming the organism, the chamber conditions and the exposure time. If there is no such report, there is no such finding. Our products are also not registered as medical devices and are not intended to prevent disease.
Independent testing of the production unit measured bacterial reduction of 41.67–46.15% across three runs (report 2016FM0070E, MoH-2002 method). We publish the strongest of those runs as 46.1% and we do not round it upward or describe it as elimination.
Chamber testing measured 99.9% reduction of coliform bacteria over 24 hours (report GST19082843035XE). That is a specific organism under specific conditions, not a general claim about germs.
Both numbers describe bacteria in a test chamber. Neither describes what happens in your living room, and neither says anything about viruses. You can read every report we hold rather than taking our summary for it.
The measures with genuine evidence behind them are unglamorous and mostly free. Ventilation is first — more outdoor air, more often, dilutes whatever is suspended indoors, which is why a cracked window in a crowded room does more than most appliances. Filtration through a properly rated filter in a system that moves enough air is second. Time and distance matter: shared air in a small space for a long time is the risk, and shortening either reduces it. Humidity in the 30–50% band keeps mucous membranes working as they should. Air cleaning of any kind is a supporting measure layered on top of those — never a replacement, and never a reason to skip them.
Where our equipment honestly fits. It reduces measured particulate and measured gases in the room it is running in, and it has published bacteria results. If you want cleaner indoor air on those terms, that is what you are buying. If you want protection from illness, no air purifier — ours or anyone’s — is the right thing to rely on, and your clinician and public-health guidance are.
Our first bacteria test came back weak. It turned out to have been run on a prototype, and the redesigned production unit tested substantially better — so we cite the production report. But we say that out loud rather than quietly deleting the first one, and when a mite test came back at 0.55% we removed every mite mention from our pages instead of burying the result. I came out of nuclear quality engineering, where an unverified claim is a defect. Publishing only the flattering half of your data is how an industry ends up with customers who assume every number is invented.
