How to Fix Forward Head Posture
By Eileen Durfee, inventor & Nationally Certified Spinal Fitness Specialist
Forward head posture — the head sitting out in front of the shoulders instead of stacked over them — is one of the most common and most costly posture faults. The fix is not just “pull your head back.” It is understanding why the head drifts forward in the first place.
Each inch of forward head position adds roughly 10 lb of effective load to the cervical spine. A pronounced forward head can push effective load past 100 lb.
Posture is a chain. When the pelvis tips out of neutral, the low-back curve flattens, the thoracic spine rounds, and to keep your eyes level the head drifts forward to compensate. That is why adjusting only the monitor or chair rarely holds — the source is lower down. Restore the pelvis and lumbar curve, and the head has a reason to come back on its own.
The Neck Shaper Kit trains neck flexion and supports the cervical curve.

Sitting tends to tip the pelvis back, flatten the low-back curve, round the upper back, and push the head forward to keep the eyes level. Fixing the base matters more than monitor height alone.
Structure changes with consistency over weeks, not a single session.
