Routine and Consistency

Heating Pad

• Use only a compatible device
• Select the lowest comfortable setting
• Follow the heating-pad instructions
• Check the skin regularly
• Do not sleep with the pad turned on

Warm-Water Bottle

• Use warm—not boiling—water
• Check for leaks before use
• Wrap the bottle if directed
• Avoid excessive pressure
• Remove it if the skin becomes painful or very red

Between Uses

Remove the liner and store it in a sealed glass or other oil-resistant covered container in a cool location.

When to Replace It

Replace the liner if it develops an unusual odor, visible contamination, damaged fabric, persistent residue, or cannot be stored hygienically.

Organic Fleece Liner

• Remove it from the outer wrap
• Blot excess oil
• Wash separately with mild fragrance-free detergent
• Repeat washing if oily residue remains
• Dry completely before reuse

Outer Wrap

• Wipe minor oil residue promptly
• Use cool or warm water and mild detergent
• Protect PUL, elastic, snaps, and boning from high heat
• Air drying is preferred
• Do not iron the PUL layer
• Avoid bleach and harsh solvents

Avoid Use Over

• Broken, infected, irritated, or freshly shaved skin
• Fresh surgical incisions
• Unexplained abdominal masses
• Severe or acute abdominal pain
• Areas with reduced sensation
• Skin reacting to castor oil or wrap materials

• You recently had abdominal or pelvic surgery
• You have significant unexplained pelvic symptoms
• You have impaired circulation or neuropathy
• You have persistent bleeding, fever, vomiting, swelling, or bowel changes
