The back-twist exercise allows the center of the spinal discs to assume their fluid state. In this state, the spine is best able to appropriately “mold” using the neck and back shaper rolls (spinal brace supports). The spinal muscles relax when the disc centers settle into their gelled state after 20 minutes of non-motion while lying over the rolls. The entire body is then prepared for restful, productive sleep.
Use the neck and back shaper spinal support rolls for acute injuries or just comfortable relaxation to promote healing and maintain correct posture. The rolls may be used once or several times a day, but the goal should be use them at least 20 minutes per session, usually after a game, workout, or before sleeping. In the beginning start with 5 minutes per session until your spine accommodates to the new shape.
The pain and symptoms associated with the misalignment of spinal vertebrae can often be controlled with the proper application of specific neck shaper spinal rolls. As stated, the rolls come in five different diameters and three different densities. Generally, use a soft smaller diameter roll to promote healing and restoration. Use a firmer and larger diameter roll in a healthy spine as curvature improves.
Proper spinal curves increase the leverage and mechanical advantage of the spine up to 15 times more than a spine without correct curvature moving in gravity. Loss of curvature dramatically increases the possibility of spinal injury due to the loss of strength in the affected area. Restoration and maintenance of normal spinal curves are essential for vertebrae to remain in normal alignment.
The back-twist exercise promotes normal metabolic action of intervertebral discs and ligaments. Individuals with spinal injuries should never twist if pain occurs; and they should only lie on the spinal brace rolls. Please consult your physician before using the back shaper spinal support rolls or performing the back-twist exercise.
