UL Listing to the US and Canadian luminaire safety standards
UL 153 is the United States safety standard for portable electric luminaires. A UL Listing means UL examined the product’s construction and materials and found that it complies with the standard’s requirements for electrical and fire safety. The CNL designation extends the same evaluation to Canada under CSA C22.2 No. 12, so the fixture is Listed for both markets.
The report describes the components UL evaluated: the four splice compartments and lampholder housings, the painted-steel shades, the Listed medium-base lampholders (rated 660 W, 250 V, with 105 °C leads), the Listed SPT-2 power supply cord, the chain, an optional Listed through-cord switch (10 A, 120 V ac), and the Listed wire connectors inside the splice compartment. Each is rated for the loads and temperatures involved.
