About the Balm: Tallow Balm will keep fresh under refrigeration for years. If stored at room temperature for approximately six months, a strong tallow odor may develop. The balm can still be used in this state. If it turns grainy, which can happen after a few months or when softened from warm temperatures, simply melt it in the oven at 120 to 150°F (49 to 56°C), and then allow it to solidify inside the refrigerator for a smooth texture.
Please note that tallow balm consistency can vary from batch to batch. Since tallow is a natural product, each batch has its own characteristics. Some will be softer than others.
Information About Beef Tallow: Tallow consists of natural fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and K, plus vitamin E. These are contained in animal fats and are essential for both general and skin health. Tallow also has fats such as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, in addition to palmitoleic acid, with natural antimicrobial properties.
